Nueva Pescanova is acquiring Unick Fish, a South African company engaged in the import and sale of fishery products in South Africa and Namibia, with presence in retail, food service and wholesale channels.
Currently, Unick Fish annual billings exceed €10 million ($11.7 million).
With this investment, Nueva Pescanova aims to boost its sales of shrimp and prawns, which are strategic products for the group.
Further, the company said it accomplishes the integration of its operations in a market with "high potential and strategic interest" for the company.
