Exports of the Norwegian trout brand Fjordorret to Germany jumped 33 percent in 2014 compared to the previous year. Finding new markets for Fjordorret has been a major priority for the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) for a number of years now.
Germany has been a special target, and now the NSC's work is beginning to pay off.
“In 2011 Fjordorret was an unknown name in Germany," Kristin Pettersen, representative in Germany at NSC, told IntraFish.
"Few if any, had it on their fish counters, and no chefs knew of it.
