The Norwegian share of the total import of all Atlantic salmon into the United States, calculated in round weight, was 13 percent through April -- the latest updated figures -- compared with 9 percent for the same period in 2014.
Total imports for the period came to 126,000 metric tons last year – as opposed to 135,000 metric tons this year, according to figures from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
Meanwhile, Chile's share is down from 56 percent to 51 percent and Canada is up from 14 percent to 22 percent.
