Norwegian salmonid producers have hauled in more than NOK 60 billion in accumulated pre-tax profit over the past 15 years, according to market research firm Kontali.

“The good result is partly motivated by volume and price. Norway has been No. 1 in terms of volume, but also a result of good margins per kilo,” wrote Lars Garshol, analyst at Kontali, in an article in the periodical Praktisk økonomi & finans.
