Norwegian salmon has been given a yellow rating by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in its latest seafood guide, as a result of continued problems with sea lice and escapes.

“The reason we’re putting Norwegian salmon on yellow – as we did in the previous guide in 2012 – is the continued problems with lice and escapes,” WWF’s fisheries consultant Lars Andresen told IntraFish.

According to WWF yellow is an OK choice, but at the same time it encourages customers to be critical.
