Norwegian company MNH Holding, owned by three fish farmers in Namdalen, snapped up a 50 percent stake in Icelandic salmon farmer Ice Fish Farm for an undisclosed amount.

Ice Fish Fresh, which was established about three years ago and operates in two of the three fjords on Iceland's east coast, has "big growth plans," which MNH Holding is aiming to "actively contribute to," it said in a press release.

The company today produces 2,000 metric tons of trout and has a license to farm 10,000 metric tons of salmon.
