Norway salmon vaccination update
Salmon, trout vaccinations in Norway stable year-on-year, says aquapharma manufacturer.
Around 24.8 million salmon vaccinations were sold in Norway in September, according to an update sent out by manufacturer Pharmaq.
This is slightly down from September 2012, when 25 million salmon vaccines were sold.
In total, 27.9 million vaccines were sold for salmon and trout, as opposed to 27.1 million in September 2012.
"Vaccination of one-year olds 2014-generation has now started, but it’s still uncertain as to the actual percentage as part of this also went to the last vaccination of 0-year old 2013-generation.
"We estimate the vaccination season for one-year olds will continue to and include the month of May, said Pharmaq in its update.
On a rolling 12-month average vaccination of salmon was stable at just more than 300 million.
