That was the message from Managing Director Ragnar Nystoyl of Kontali Analyse at the Midtnorsk fisheries conference in Kristiansund last week, according to the news bureau NTB.
Profit so far this year is NOK 4 billion (€508.5 million/$612.5 million) of salmon exports totaling NOK 11.1 billion (€1.4 billion/$1.6 billion).
Corresponding profit at the close of May 2009 was NOK 2.3 billion (€292.4 million/$352.2 million).
As IntraFish has previously reported -- with Kontali as the source -- slaughter volume in Norway could exceed one million metric tons in 2010.
