Only 16 percent of Norwegian Atlantic farmed salmon was processed before being exported in 2011, figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) show.
This is a decline from the two previous years.
In 2009, 18 percent of salmon exports were processed.
In 2010, the figure was at 19 percent, the data, from NSEC market analyst Paul Aandahl, show.
Taken over a five-year period since 2006, however, the share of processed exports comes back down again to 16 percent.
The amount of value-added production reached a historical record in February 2010, when 22 percent of Norwegian salmon exports were sold already processed.
