Elisabeth Alsaker, the minister of fisheries and coastal affairs, warned last week the Norwegian inspection regime for seafood will probably be changed with regards to fish exports to Russia.
When asked if Norway is giving in to Russian pressure, Amund Dronen Ringdal, Norwegian cabinet secretary told IntraFish, “I wouldn’t put it like that."
"On Monday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Borge Brende met with the Russian foreign affairs minster, Sergej Lavrov. This issue was included in their discussion," he said.
Both countries are now considering ways to find solutions.
