Norway announced its intention this week to follow the European Union (EU) and the United States in putting sanctions on Russia over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Foreign Minister Borge Brende told Aftenposten Norway is intending to endorse the EU measures, but has yet to consult parliament on the matter. According to NTB, there is broad political agreement to follow the EU.
Trond Davidsen, director for aquaculture and market access at Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL), does not believe further sanctions will be implemented on the Norwegian seafood industry in response.
