Peter Bamberger, chairman of the Danish Seafood Asociation, dismisses speculation that the EC will investigate concerns of a cartel behavior by Norwegian exporters.

The issue has been debated in the past days by importers of Norwegian salmon.

Bamberger has been in touch with the Norwegian Seafood Federation (NSF) and says the Norwegians said the high prices were caused by strong demand, which exceeded the supply.

Two representatives of the NSF were due to meet their Danish counterparts in Copenhagen on April 21. However, the meeting was cancelled due to the volcano eruption in Iceland.
