Northcoast Seafoods, part of Danish trading group Kangamiut Seafood, reported profit growth of 70 percent in 2010, partly as a result of the collapse of British Seafood.

The company -- which specializes in importing coldwater shrimp but is expanding into other species -- reported sales for the year ending Dec. 31 of £59.14 million (€69 million/$91 million), up 13.37 percent year-on-year.

Northcoast’s pre-tax profit was £3.14 million (€3.7 million/$4.8 million), up 70.6 percent year-on-year.
