The North Atlantic Seafood Forum has appointed former MSD Animal Health exec Johan Kvalheim to take over as new managing director on June 1, replacing longtime executive Jorgen Lund after a 14-year tenure.

Kvalheim, originally from Måløy, holds an MBA in International Business from the ENPC School of International Management in Paris.

"I am really excited, this is a great conference, and I am really looking forward to taking it to new heights, both nationally and internationally," Kvalheim told IntraFish.

He worked almost nine years for the seafood company Hallvard Lerøy in Bergen, and was also director of France with the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) for six years.

In 2013, Kvalheim became managing director of Norway’s largest veterinary medicine company MSD Animal Health Norge.

In 2018, he established a seafood export company Star Seafood, where he will continue to work through the end of May.
