As farmed salmon prices struggle along, boat price for wild Alaska sockeye from Bristol Bay appears unaffected by the glut of farmed salmon on the market. The base is settling at the same $1 a pound level it did last year, sources told IntraFish.
It remains to be seen, however, whether the final price -- with price adjustments that will be made through spring of 2013 -- will be as high as it was for the 2011 season's fish, Leader Creek Fisheries General Manager Norman Van Vactor told IntraFish.
