NOAA: Trump’s tariff threat a ‘wake-up call’ to EU countries

Stephane Vrignaud, the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) fisheries representative to the European Union, told IntraFish that US President Donald Trump’s proposal to levy tariffs on EU exports is “not a threat yet, just a consideration.”

Trump tweeted April 9 that the United States will put tariffs on $11 billion of EU products, as a retaliation measure to findings from the World Trade Organization (WTO) on subsidies granted by the European Union to European aeronautics giant Airbus.
