Kristina Landsverk (pictured left), head of the department of control (CVO) at the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA), is welcoming the news that six Norwegian companies have been granted access to the Russian market via Belarus.

IntraFish reported the news on Monday and Landsverk confirmed the information was communicated in an internal letter on the website of Russia's veterinary inspectorate Rosselkhoznadzor.

Speaking to IntraFish sister publication Fiskeribladet Fiskaren, Landsverk described the development as positive.

The NFSA is now awaiting the inspection report from Rosselkhoznadzor on the remaining eight companies that were inspected in September.
