The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) is calling into question the sincerity of Greenpeace’s campaign against fish aggregating devices (FAD)s, and with that, its facts.
NFI posted video on its blog, Tuna for Tomorrow, that purportedly features recordings from a message that Greenpeace supporters left on a Chicken of the Sea voice mail box.
In the recording, a Greenpeace employee is audible in the background, prompting the caller to deliver a pre-written message, NFI spokesperson Gavin Gibbons told IntraFish.
“We’ve seen Greenpeace historically use exaggeration and hyperbole, but we’ve never seen something like this,” Gibbons said.
