The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) Crab Council is taking a step toward more effective efforts on sustainability in Asia by appointing a new liaison in the continent.

Jeremy Crawford, previously a business development manager in the blue swimming crab industry, has already started his work in his home base of Thailand, but his efforts to enhance sustainable crab fishing in Asia will take him to the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.

“I’m looking forward to working with a group that is leading the way in blue swimming crab sustainability,” said Crawford, who has worked throughout the blue crab value chain in India and helped lead management compliance on HACCP issues in Thailand.
