That’s according to senior researcher Erik Slinde of the Institute of Marine Research (IMR), a professor at the University of Environmental and Bio-Sciences (UMB) at Aas in Norway.

He held an address at the seafood conference “Sjomatdagene” last week in Hell, Norway. The title was about carbon monoxide (CO) in slaughtering and how it can “be a solution to everything.”

It is a theme he has worked with for some time, and a theme that concerns many in the industry.

In June, IntraFish reported Slinde had received NOK 6 million (€731,000/$1 million) from the Norwegian Research Council to investigate possibilities with carbon monoxide.
