A recent federal agency announcement caught the attention of the US Gulf shrimp industry, but some hope it will actually come through fruition.
The National Ocean Council Committee to Combat Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and Seafood Fraud proposed a US seafood traceability program to cut down on fraud, ensure imported seafood are sustainably managed, and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
