A new regime for Norwegian exports of salmon and trout to Russia will be introduced June 15.
The new system entails that companies selling to Russia must, through a written declaration, commit to comply with new guidelines.
The new industry rules have been developed by the Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL) and the Norwegian Seafood Association (NSL) on the basis of the regulations for the Customs Union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
“The exporter must guarantee the Russian criteria are fulfilled,” FHL’s director for aquaculture and market access, Trond Davidsen, told IntraFish.
