Fishing firm Pesquera Landes, which already produces fry and smolt, bought Providencia Fish Farms a fish producer in Region 11, for around NOK 84 million (€10 million/$15 million), reported El Diario Financiero.
Pesquera Landes has long considered buying into salmon farming, but the price was too high, according to President Andres Fosk. Problems with infectious salmon anemia (ISA) have adjusted the price down, so the company is able to buy into the industry.
Providencia Fish Farms has plants and localities in Region 11.
