Another major salmon producer, Invermar, also dropped off the top 40 list of the IPSA index.
Multiexport was listed alone in 2008, and Invermar was listed alone the year before.
IPSA can be compared with the Norwegian OBX index which is a list of the top traded 25 shares on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
The two other fisheries companies on the Chilean stock exchange are Itata and Coloso; both are engaged in pelagic fishing and fishmeal production.
According to the IntraFish overview of the world’s biggest salmon producers in 2007, Multiexport was ranked eighth and Invermar 22nd.
