The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) on Tuesday offered to mediate a dispute surrounding the sharing of its certificate for the Alaska salmon fishery, according to a statement from the MSC sent to IntraFish. The MSC noted there is a sense of urgency for solving the standoff.

"The MSC Board urges both the APSA and the applicant companies to continue dialogue to determine an appropriate cost-sharing mechanism," reads the statement.

"The MSC Board is hopeful that continued dialogue between the parties will deliver an equitable and timely solution.
