Mowi Scotland estimates spending around £7.5 million (€8.3 million/$9.3 million) to relocate two inshore farm sites to new high-energy and offshore locations, the company's Director of Communications and Business Development Ian Roberts told IntraFish.

The costs were calculated based on the most recent offshore farm sites infrastructure investments.

Mowi Scotland announced plans to move two of its inshore salmon farms Loch Ewe and Loch Duich because of their proximity to wild salmon habitats.

"Mowi employs a team of marine biologists and oceanographers to constantly review the performance of existing farms, the potential for new offshore locations and the expansion of current sites," Roberts said.
