Norwegian salmon producers are debating whether to use electricity or hammer methods to slaughter the fish.
Malek said the use of electricity leads to a lot of poor results. This in turn means that salmon producers often have to sell their salmon to Morpol for cheaper due to lesser quality, Malek said.
“I ask myself: how stupid can people be if they continue to use a method in the slaughterhouse which means that they have to give us big sums in discount on bad fish?” Malek told IntraFish.
