That may come as a surprise, considering the company decided to roll out the eco-label on Filet-o-Fish sandwiches at all 7,000 of its Europe locations this month.
Senior Manager of Global Media Relations Lisa McCombs told IntraFish in an emailthat McDonald’s U.S. has made no such announcement.
“Not all McDonald’s fish suppliers in local markets around the world have decided to pursue MSC-certified fish and use the eco-label, however many markets, including the United States and Canada, source 100 percent of their fish from MSC fisheries,” McCombs said.
