Fast food giant McDonald’s is preparing for a spring rollout of its McLobster sandwich after sales in Canada doubled in volume in 2011, the company said.
The fast food chain, which only offers lobster in its Canadian stores, specifically in the Maritime Provinces Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, said it rolled out the McLobster earlier than usual in 2011 due to strong demand.
The total amount sold ended up at “approximately double the 2010 quantity,” an increase directly due to “our customers’ strong interest in the product,” a spokesperson for McDonald’s Canada said.
