The project, to be built in Glomfjord, costs around NOK 100 million (€12.4 million/$17 million) and the plant is scheduled to open in November. It is effectively an extension of an existing site.
“For us this was a case of ‘to be or not to be.’ Without this investment we would have had to downgrade production and lay off employees. Instead we are taking part in building Norway’s biggest smolt production plant,” Marine Harvest Glomfjord operations manager, Andre Spigseth, told local newspaper Avisa Nordland.
