Sales in France, Europe's main market for smoked salmon, where not as strong as usual last Christmas, Marine Harvest said.
This was due to end user prices, which "remained relatively high,” the company said in its fourth quarter report .

Lower salmon prices will filter down to smoked salmon prices in retail and bring prices down during the second quarter, he told IntraFish.
