Norwegian salmon giant Marine Harvest announced this morning it will not renew its membership of the Norwegian Seafood Federation, citing "fundamental disagreements in several key issues."
Instead the company will join Norsk Industri.
"Marine Harvest and FHL disagree on some of the basic questions about how this industry will continue to evolve, and what role FHL should adopt. Therefore this decision is best for both parties," said Kristine Gramstad, executive vice president of communications, in a statement Friday morning.
The disagreement is due mainly to two factors; the vision on the development of Norwegian aquaculture, and the way the FHL organization operated.
