Marine Harvest claims it can prove that the former CEO for activities in Chile and the United States, Jimenez, struck a deal involving sharing the profits earned by the company SSA. The company had purchased smolt, hired equipment, plant and employees from Marine Harvest in 2009.
After having farmed the salmon purchased from Marine Harvest in an 18-month period, SSA managed to achieve a profit of around $38 million (€27.64 million).
Marine Harvest -- which has now warned of an imminent court case against the former boss -- apparently had no idea of Jimenez’ connections to the other company before earlier this year when they found an agreement on his work computer.
