Marine Harvest is in talks with Carlos Amoros de la Nieta, the executive who founded Spanish seafood giant Caladero, about expanding its processing in Spain.

Marine Harvest, the world’s largest salmon farmer, is in talks with Amoros, who built Caladero up, until retailer Mercadona assumed control in October 2010, according to a story broken by IntraFish

“Marine Harvest is looking at doing co-packing on salmon with Carlos,” a source in Spain told IntraFish.

Amoros left when Mercadona took control of Caladero, but took on parts of the former business, which he named Caladero Seafood.
