Marine Harvest closer to farming lice-eating fish

Up until now, the investment has cost Marine Harvest NOK 25 million for Marine Harvest.

The ballan wrasse belongs to the wrasse fish family. Wrasse fish (or cleaner fish) are one of the means the Norwegian marine farming industry wishes to use to quit itself of the troublesome salmon louse.

“We have conducted trials at a laboratory in Bergen. 30 salmon, of which each had about 30 salmon lice on them, were released into a tank with 30 wrasse fish.
