The whitefish processing sector is at a turning point and is entering a new generation, according to executives from Icelandic equipment manufacturer Marel.
Speaking to IntraFish, Sigurdur Olason, managing director of Marel's Fish Industry Center and David Bertelsen, sales director at Marel, said this was part of the reason the company launched its inaugural Whitefish ShowHow event in Copenhagen last week.
“The whitefish industry really is at a turning point,” said Bertelsen. “A number of factors are really coming together that are bridging us into the new generation for processing,” he said.
