The salmon sector is a “healthy and sustainable industry” at the moment, and with high prices, high profits and growing demand, processors are looking to maximize their yields all the more, according to executives at Icelandic equipment manufacturer Marel.

Speaking to IntraFish at the 15th Salmon ShowHow in Copenhagen, Sigurdur Olason, managing director of Marel’s Fish Industry Center, put the company’s recent healthy financial results down to the "favorable seafood market" in general.
