“Retail trends are what drive this industry,” Elvin Bugge, a consultant at Aquatic Concept Group told delegates at the 13th annual Marel Salmon ShowHow in Copenhagen Wednesday.
“The future competitiveness of the salmon industry depends on its ability to deliver high quality products at competitive prices to domestic and international markets. But is it possible to do both?"
To do this there must be a change in mindset from equipment manufacturers, said Bugge, a move away from producing documentation to meet a rigid set of regulations to using documentation for insight into how to continuously improve processes and achieve a stable high quality.
