Same-restaurant sales at Red Lobster fell by as much as 5 percent in October, despite a 6 percent to 7 percent increase in check average, the company reported Tuesday.
The check average increase was a result of a 1 percent to 2 percent increase in pricing and a 4 percent to 5 percent increase from menu mix changes, the company said.
More importantly, guest counts fell by as much as 11 percent during the period.
Same-restaurant sales at Red Lobster rose as much as 2 percent in September, but guest counts during the month were down by as much as 7 percent.
