In 2013, volume will double compared to production figures of two years ago.
In 2011, Mainstream harvested 16,000 metric tons of salmon in Norway’s northernmost county. Next year, the company plans to harvest 32,000 metric tons.
This is despite the fact Mainstream’s production cost in Finnmark is NOK15 (€2/$2.6) (measured round at cage) – which is NOK 2 (€0.27/$0.35) above the average of the company’s production in Nordland.
However, Mainstream will reduce this cost by NOK 1 (€0.13/$0.17) in the short term.
