One of Europe's leading turbot producer's, Stolt Sea Farm, recently blamed "a competitor" for flooding the market with small fish, driving its earnings down into the red.

While Stolt did not name the competitor, it most certainly pointed at Pescanova -- with its operations in Mira, Portugal.

While IntraFish could not reach Stolt's CEO Pablo Garcia for comment on the current situation in the European turbot sector, other players have similar notions.

"Yes, we do agree with that [Pescanova is flooding the market with small fish, pushing down prices]," Thierry Pollet of France Turbot, part of Groupe Adrien, told IntraFish.

"Pescanova
