The Louisiana Seafood Promotion & Marketing Board is considering buying naming rights to the New Orleans Arena, home court for the professional basketball team, the New Orleans Hornets.
The NBA team is preparing a formal proposal to the marketing board to sponsor the 17,000 person capacity arena, which is currently owned by the state.
“Naming rights have been a focus for the team for the last few seasons and, although it’s not appropriate to identify who those discussions are with, we are very excited about our progress," team spokesman Harold Kaufman said.
