Austevoll Seafood already acquired more than one-third of the shares in Leroy Seafood in September. On Tuesday, the company offered NOK 59 ($9.58/€7.01) per share for a full takeover.
Just before 11.30 a.m., the share was up to NOK 57.50 ($9.36/€6.81), a 27 percent surge in a matter of hours. When the exchange closed for trading Monday afternoon Leroy shares were quoted at around NOK 45 ($7.33/€5.33).
As with most salmon companies, Leroy’s shares have ebbed and flowed. In Decmber 2002, Leroy shares were as low as NOK 16.50
