Enoksen, who came to the United States from Norway as a boy after World War II, founded New Bedford, Massachusetts-based Eastern in 1978 with one vessel.
With his longtime business partner Frank O’ Hara, Enoksen has built the company into a fishing empire operating 23 vessels and handling approximately 20 million pounds of scallops each year, roughly 20 percent of the total U.S. consumption.
