Jellyfish attacks in Chiloé cause more salmon deaths

Puerto Montt, Chile: Not only are toxic algal blooms keeping salmon farmers on their toes in Chiloé island in southern Chile: there has also been the strange arrival of numerous jellyfish in the vicinity of fish farms. Specimens of up to one metre in diameter have been sighted. And according to some, jellyfish attacks are an omen of the arrival of El Niño.
