Longtime exec Helgi Anton Eiriksson's announcement Wednesday that he will step down after nine years at the helm of Iceland Seafood International (ISI) comes at "the right time," he told IntraFish.

The executive said the past 10 years at the company and nine years as CEO had been a great run, but that the decision at this time is "good for both ISI and me."

"It has been an extremely busy time, especially for the past three years, and I now have decided to step away at a moment in which the business is in a very good position and ready for its next phase of growth," Eirksson told IntraFish.
