That’s according to an overview published by the newspaper Finansavisen, based on annual reports for the 50 largest stock exchange-listed companies, measured in exchange value.

Cermaq’s Isaksen ranks No. 38 on the list at NOK 3.2 million (€350,000/$490,000) paid out in 2008.

Two top leaders were paid more than NOK 20 million (€2.2 million/$3.1 million). By comparison, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg earned NOK 1.26 million (€140,000/$192,000).

In 41st place is Marine Harvest CEO Ase Aulie Michelet, at NOK 2.7 million (€296,000/$412,000), but she only took up her position in March.
