Infectious salmon anemia (ISA) has been detected at a marine farm site in the Lofoten region in Hadsel, Nordland County.

Lofoten Sjoprodukter that is currently engaged in production at Bergvikodden, where the virus was discovered. The site is normally operated by Nordlaks Oppdrett.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority (NFSA) has issued a warning for all traffic in the area to exercise the necessary caution to prevent the disease from spreading.

NFSA also informed that a regulation has been approved concerning a control area for combating ISA in Ibestad and Skaanland municipalities in Troms County.
