In early November, IntraFish reported that ISA had broken out in Bahia Perales Bay in Region 12. The farm belongs to the company Servicios de Acuicultura Acuimag S.A.
Only a month later another outbreak was reported, this time in Region 11. at Butan 1 farm belonging to the company Acuinova.
According to Chile’s Fisheries Minister, Pablo Galilea, Acuinova has not reported about increased mortalities in line with regulations.
Acuinova has denied any wrongdoing, arguing that hiding an ISA outbreak is not feasible.
Nevertheless, financial institutions did not welcome the news.
