Is salmon farming just a game of Monopoly?

The other evening I played a version of the timeless board game Monopoly with my six year old son. The game reminded me in many ways of salmon farming.

Of course, we all know that salmon farming isn't a game, and certainly not Monopoly. Monopoly is a game where the outcome is largely dependent on chance, and very little on knowledge and strategy.

Salmon farming requires hard, laborious work, an abundance of knowledge and experience, and sound cooperation both within the company and throughout the value chain.
